Sight words

Sight words are words that are not phonetic and do not follow the rules used for sounding out words. Sight words need to be memorized and are practiced with matching activities, in the workbooks, flash cards and are often included in beginning reader books.

Our first sight word activity is a color and number three part card matching. It include a control and cards to be printed and cut apart.

The next two activities can be printed in matching sets or be used as flash cards to practice sight word recognition.

Remember, only as much work time on these activities as your child’s interest allows. Help them as much as they need it and be ready to back up to a previous lesson if they are having difficulty.

This work is done at the same time as the workbooks, for those that are able to write. https://www.mapletreemontessori.com/online-lessons/primary-lower-el-workbooks/
